Facts, propaganda, and other afflictions

From Gnomon Chronicles

Context: "Folks need to fact check what they post before they post it."

Can confirm.

Nothing is a "fact" until confirmed by multiple reliable sources.

Even "facts" confirmed by multiple reliable sources might be untrue, or manipulative propaganda, or afflicted in other ways.

My advice? Always put the words "fact" and "facts" in quotation marks, as a reminder about propaganda and other afflictions (and, from another direction, my "truth is subjective" principle).
